Man's Best Friend
Larry, an English Labrador Retriever, has the ability to detect seizures up to four hours before they happen. Larry’s ability to do this has changed Mark Gwathmey’s life. Years of conflict greatly impacted Mark, a Master Sergeant for the U.S. Marine Corps. After his last tour in Iraq Mark began having seizures due to a traumatic brain injury. In November 2007, Mark received Larry through America's VetDogs, an organization that trains and provides veterans with service dogs. Larry is not only a lifeline for Mark but is a part of his family.
